Why ‘Chicken Delivery’ is a winner for the grocery store chain

UPS and Kroger Inc. have been getting flak for not delivering fresh chicken to customers in time for Thanksgiving.

But some shoppers are embracing the chicken delivery service, which has grown to become a popular way to get the freshest food at the grocery chain.

The delivery service has become a big seller in cities like Atlanta, Chicago and Washington, D.C., and has expanded into other parts of the country, including the Bay Area, according to an analysis of U.S. grocery market data by the Food Marketing Institute.
